Scope and Contents The collection is composed of notes mainly on Egyptian hieroglyphics, including studies for a dictionary of hieroglyphics. In addition to the volumes and boxed notebooks there are a number of folded documents and miscellaneous manuscripts.

Scope and Contents The collection consists of: circular letters from Cowie describing her work and the mission in Yemen and some holidays taken in retirement (1933-1969); a medal given to Cowie for her services in Yemen; a Church of Scotland pamphlet on the mission (1964); Cowie's New Testament in Arabic; and a set of slides of scenes and mission work in Yemen.

Monro Binning; letters and documents relating to Arabic, Persian, Hindustani, Dukhnee, Telugu etc; and, a vocabulary in English, Arabic, French, Hebrew, Persian, Greek, Sanskrit, Latin, Turkish, Telugu, Gaelic, and Hindi.
