Scope and Contents The collection consists of nineteen letters from Scott to his close friend the Reverend James Robertson written mainly from Blantyre, Nyasaland (Malawi) from the time of his arrival in 1881 to 1895, the year in which his wife and brother died. Scope and Contents The collection is composed of 8 volumes of notebooks containing diaries or journals covering the period 1892-1901. One of the small notebooks is headed on the inside cover, Hospital Hill, King Williams Town, and contains official stamps and franked postage stamps over the year 1904. Another is headed, Free Church of Scotland, Livingstonia Mission, 1895. Archival envelopes contain photographs and cards of people and places in Africa, and a collection of drawings and sketches of local subjects.
