The Royall Cedar, by Frederic van Bossen

Scope and Contents Unbound copy of a manuscript, Edinburgh 1688, with original stitching. Commences with an elaborate title page with allegorical figures, with shield and decorated borders. There follows a list of authorities used in the writing of the work and a dedication. Van Bossen states that he has made use of an ancient manuscript by John Tulloch, Bishop of Orkney. The work forms a substantial history of Scottish nobility and follows the structure of that laid out in other copies.
