The marjority of the notebook relates to material collected in Earra Ghàidheal/Argyllshire but there are a number of loose leaves at the end which contain an account of a journey from Uibhist/Uist through An t-Eilean Sgitheanach/Isle of Skye, during which time his wife, Mary is in Edinburgh and is pregnant. Song beginning 'Fhuair mi [-] eir Dón Barain, Dhol a Kileandr[ais]t s Port Charrain' [Cille Anndrais/Killandrist, Port a' Charrain, Lios Mòr/Lismore, Earra Ghàidheal/Argyllshire]. The song is composed of nine lines. There is also an accompanying placename note stating that Bailur and Bailegarbh [Baile Iubhair/Balure and Baile Garbh/Baligarve] were both once called Bailemeanach.
