English version of 'Thebaid', Late 19th or early 20th century

 Item
Identifier: Coll-98/3/1/23
Scope and Contents This is an English translation of the Latin poem 'Thebaid', written by the Latin poet, Statius. There is no title, bt previous historical records indicate that this may have been the text used by Mackinnon, who had the work published in 'Celtic Review'. This is likely to be an English translation of the Gaelic manuscript 72.1.8,ff.1-28, although the poem survives and translations of it survive in other manuscripts.
