Scope and Contents Charm entitled 'Eolas an t Sniamh' [Eòlas an t-Sniamh or Charm of the Sprain] collected from Fionaghal ni[ghean] Chaluim or MacLeod [Flora MacLeod], Baileshear [Baile Shear/Baleshare, Uibhist a Tuath/North Uist]. The charm begins 'Chai C[riosd] amach is fhuair e snai nan each air an cuar ma seach' and is repeated three times while a linen thread is twisted, a knot put on one end first, then the middle and then put around the affected joint. Song entitled 'Na H-Iolairean' beginning 'A Dhun dui sin ’s a Dhun dui' collected from Fionaghal nin Chalum Nic Leoid [Flora MacLeod], Baileshear [Baile Sear/Baleshare, Uibhist a Tuath/North Uist]. Carmichael notes that Flora heard this from John Stewart at Baleshare who died in 1868 age 78.
