Story about a sick woman in an unthatched house on Miùghlaigh/Mingulay in which Carmichael was encouraged by 'My old friend Ruary' [Roderick MacNeil] to visit the sick woman even although Carmichael did not know her as Roderick thought she would appreciated it. On arriving at the house he was surprised that the woman was young and 'comely' but saw that she was completely paralysed with rheumatism.
