Scope and Contents Note about a cave 'Ua nan cathag nam cas dearg' [Uamh na Cathaig, Lios Mòr/Lismore] said to contain stalagmites and stalactites. Close to it, at Salen [An Sàilean], is a well, which is covered at half-flood and on which 'lianaiach' [sea-ware] grows. The note states that the last of the bird 'cathag nan casa dearg' [chough] was killed by a Rankin in Fort William [An Gearasdan, Siorramachd Inbhir Nis/Inverness-shire]. An illustration, possibly of a feather, is included.

Scope and Contents Note probably collected from Christina Campbell née Macintyre, Lios Mòr/Lismore Earra, Ghàidheal/Argyllshire that Sir Duncan Campbell offered Alastair MacColl the rent on Achnacrois [Achadh na Croise/Achnacroish, Lios Mòr/Lismore] at 15 pounds a year as long as water ran in Allt Mhuilinn Mhic Aidh. Allt Mhuilinn Mhic Aidh is noted as running between Bailnangown [Baile na Gobhann/Balnagown] and Achnacrois. Sir Duncan's trousers and coat are described.

Scope and Contents Note collected from John Black, aged eighty-six, Killean, Lios Mòr/Lismore, Earra Ghàidheal/Argyllshire about archaeological finds at Dun chrubain [Dùn hrùban] including a bone ring, three inches in diameter, a sword head and animal teeth. Black states that he and his brother cleared out the rubbish and found nine fireplaces inside. The description of the fireplaces is unclear.

Carmichael notes that theres are '3 Eirebals' namely Eirebal Mòr, Eirebal Beag and Eirebal-an-fhaing. The last places on the island to retain wood were Aoine and Alasra.
