Archaeological note about a skeleton which was found 'in a sit[tin]g pos[i]t[ion] stuck in a cleft of a rock s[outh] of Tear Che or Cherun' [Tobar Chè, Tarasaigh/Taransay] and that Tobar Chè 'is ab[ou]t 55 y[ar]ds due w[est] covered over with a face it goes back 60 or 70 f[ee]t'.

Archaeological notes and sketchs of Dun Loch an duin and Sinedal [Dùn Loch an Dùin and Sionadail Tarasaigh/Taransay] describing how Dùn Loch an Dùin is 'a round dun on a small lake with a clachan straight to it' and as being 'up & entire within the mem[ory] of people living'. The sketches show it in profile and in plan, noting some of its dimensions. The sketch of Sionadail notes a small mill or millstone and the measurements of a raised cross on the upper stone.

Scope and Contents Note about a dun on Tarasaigh/Taransay giving its dimensions as seventeen yards in diameter and describing the remains of it as the foundations 'all a grassy mound' on the slope of a hill and how a narrow passge leads from the outside to the centre. It was said that Dùn Loch an Dùin could be seen from this dun so that it 'Must have been 100 f[ee]t high'. Notes on the situation of Tarasaigh/Taransay houses stating that some are supposed to be built over tungas [tombs], connecting the placename Tunng or Tongue, Sutherland [Tunga, Cataibh] with it and noting that Àird nan Ceall is to be found at 'the points of land S[outh] W[est] of the temples.'
