Said to be a precint between High Street tenements and Tron Square Two children in the foreground. There is a note on the envelope of the negative which reads "These I should like to be taken again some day" with an illegible signature, possibly "J.B Strong" or "Sim" or "J.B.S.M." Unfortunately, the writer did not note an appropriate title.

"No.5" in the hand-written title on the original envelope must refer to the number of exposure, and not to any part of the scene. Handwritten title by R. Dykes.

A series of a random selection of prints, many appear to be duplicate copies of other images, relating to Edinburgh, Scotland and elsewhere which were added to the teaching collection at the Outlook Tower at some point after Patrick Geddes' death and before 1990. Some are marked and are therefore copyright of W. Reid; Balmain Photographers, Edinburgh; and The Scotsman - some of these may belong in Coll-1167/C/2

A print from this glass plate negative was included in the "New Town of Edinburgh" section of Geddes' replacement "Cities and Town Planning Exibition". See Coll-1167/B/13.
