'This man suffers from muscular atrophy but Dr says his symptoms are half hysterical. Luminal t.i.d. Was an engineer. Incomer. Very decent people - he got a DCM in the last war. "Spends six months of every year in bed. Has asthma. Describes symptoms of angina but at the wrong time. Chronic invalid. Opens his shop three times a week for two house. "This woman suffers from asthma, her breathing is always very laboured, gets very depressed about it. She is a widow, lives alone, has no family. Her house is too big for her and she is unable to look after it or herself properly, but the neighbours help. She has tried to have people to stay with her but does not get on well with them. Dr says this woman is senile. She has had carcinoma and now has a bad heart. Is lonely and very sorry for herself."
