Letter to James Cossar Ewart from Walter Heape, 18 January 1899
Heape offers advice on how to compose a scheme of recording the following data from experiments: details and date of service of mare, date of birth of the foal, in conjunction with the number of times the mare was served. This information might indicate any retardation of ovulation, or any hindrance to the passage of sperm into the uterus.
