Scope and Contents Story entitled 'Ni[gh]ean Gobha Ghriminis' collected from Donacha MacanLeallain [Duncan MacLellan], mason and crofter, Carnan, Iocar [Càrnan, Ìochdar, Uibhist a Deas/South Uist]. The story tells how a blacksmith in 'Grim[inis] sa Cheanna tua' [Griminish, Uibhist a Tuath/North Uist] was a good man with no family but a daughter. Note probably collected from Christina Campbell née Macintyre, Lios Mòr/Lismore Earra, Ghàidheal/Argyllshire that Sir Duncan Campbell offered Alastair MacColl the rent on Achnacrois [Achadh na Croise/Achnacroish, Lios Mòr/Lismore] at 15 pounds a year as long as water ran in Allt Mhuilinn Mhic Aidh. Allt Mhuilinn Mhic Aidh is noted as running between Bailnangown [Baile na Gobhann/Balnagown] and Achnacrois. Sir Duncan's trousers and coat are described.

Scope and Contents Note probably collected from Donald MacColl, foxhunter, Glencreran, Earra Ghàidheal/Argyllshire, about the feu on Glasdruim [Glasdrum, Earra Ghàidheal/Argyllshire] and how the title to it was either kept on the owner's person or hidden under a stone. The feu was lost owing to acting as surety and because the MacColls were stronger than the Stewarts of Appin. Note probably collected from Christina Campbell née Macintyre, Lios Mòr/Lismore Earra, Ghàidheal/Argyllshire about the Macintyres at Achnandun [Achadun, Lios Mòr/Lismore] that the informant's grandfather Gilleaspa MacDhugail [Gilleasbuig mac Dhùghaill or Archibald Macintyre] lived there, their uncle Dugald [Macintyre] was born there and the rent offered to them by 'Fear Loch an Eala' [General Duncan Campbell fo Lochnell] was 15 pounds a year as long as water ran in the burn.
