Copies of outgoing letters, written by the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland's director, Gilbert Dempster Fisher. The letters are arranged chronologically, starting from the 22nd November 1967 - 28th February 1968.

Scope and Contents During the move of the RZSS collection from Edinburgh Zoo to the University of Edinburgh, a collection of copy letter books were discovered containing outgoing correspondence from RZSS director, Thomas Gillespie. Any outgoing correspondence from the directors of the RZSS are contained in these copy letters. This is an incomplete run of letters. The date span of this collection of newsletters is from 14th April 1993 (issue 5), up to October 2000 (issue 142). The newsletters contain staff updates, quizzes, jokes and details about uncoming events. The newsletter is written in a tongue-in-cheek fashion.

Newspaper cuttings which have been pasted into seven large volumes dating from 1909 (the foundation of the RZSS) up till 1971. The newspaper cuttings contain stories and images from the history of the RZSS and other zoological matters occuring around Scotland.

The publication is full of photographs showing the animals at the zoo, the estate, and staff.
