He reports that he has not found any basalt rock while undertaking geological mapping in Derbyshire but has photographs and thin sections of bedded ash. He reports that his work is 3 months behind due to a knee injury but he is now recovered. He remarks that he is glad to see the Annual Report of the Geological Survey in print but...
