Three editions the Macfarlan's Illustrated Family Paper, from 1 May 1855, 1 June 1855, and 2 July 1855. The newspapers are entirely hand-written or hand-drawn, including illustrations. Topics discussed include, among other things: events relating to the Crimean war such as the siege of Sevastopol and the Hango Head massacre; the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 1855; the Exposition Universelle of 1855 (as international exhibition held in Paris). The newspapers are beautifully illustrated.
