The collection consists of 26 original drawings of skulls by James Hogarth Pringle. These are contained in an album. There is also a printed volume of reproductions of anatomical drawings by him.
Notes on the Anatomy and Surgery lectures of Henry Cline and Astley Cooper, taken down by Robert Bickersteth
These ms notes of the lectures on Anatomy and Surgery given by Henry Cline (1750-1827) and Astley Cooper (1768-1841) were taken down by Robert Bickersteth. Cline was a surgeon at St. Thomas's Hospital, London, and Cooper was a surgeon in London too.
The notes are in ink, sometimes on both recto and verso of the leaf, but usually on the rectos only. There are occasional drawings.
The collection contains:
- 1 x degree certificate in the name of Andrew Crawford Hume
- 4 x degree/certificates in the name of Thomas Hume
- 1 tool-bound volume containingJail hygiene in India, published in Calcutta, 1881, andVaso-motor diseases in India, 1879, which was owned by A. Hume aboard 'HMS Marathon', Bombay, Sept. 1891
The collection is composed of: written tributes to MacDonald; newspaper cuttings; obituaries; re-prints and off-prints of articles in Spanish and English; an M.D. thesis 1898The treatment of superficial burns by picric acid solution: a study in repair; degree diploma or certificate (M.D. 1901) from the University of Paris; several photographs of MacDonald and of Huelva and the clinic there; and, newspapers from 1932-1933.
