Diagram of Castle Coeffin [Caisteal Chaifeann, Lios Mòr/Lismore, Earra Ghàidheal/Argyllshire] drawn by Alexander Carmichael and accompanying notes describing a porthole facing Glensanda, large holes in the outside walls as if for bars and the dimensions and situations of the remaining structure. The dungeon is marked on the diagram along with measurements.

Field notebook belonging to Alexander Carmichael. Written on the inside front cover is '2/9 1870. Oban' and on the flyleaf is '[deleted: Twas] Friday 2 Sep[tember]. 1870. 12 noon from Ob[an]'. Folios 1-3r and 75r to 117v are blank. The text on folio 3v and 4r and 4v is written updside down and is later text (29 January 1875). Notes on St Moluag's Cathedral, Lios Mòr/Lismore, Earra Ghàidheal/Argyllshire and accompanying sketches of arches and a niche inside the church, including their dimensions. He describes some of the interior including 'The head of a bishop on the left + head of an abbess look[in]g t[o]w[ard]s the pulpit + right across the chu[rch].' The description appears to be incomplete.

Sketch plan of Dun a Chaolais Bhatarsay [Dùn a' Chaolais, Bhataraisgh/Vatersay]. The sketch shows three concentric circles marked as ' Wall', 'Passage' and 'Wall', with their measurements noted. The circles are on a rounded oblong described as a 'Raised platform outside built of stones'. A compass is marked on teh sketch showing that the oblong runs north to south. A note written on what would be the west side of the dùn reads 'West Oscean (sic) not in sight - Rising hill between....
