Scope and Contents Note about childbirth customs that women would sit with the woman who had delivered a baby for eight days until the baby was christened and that a rowan collar was placed around the neck of the child. Rowan was also placed around the churn to 'keep the toradh'. 'Hence the frequency with the rowan is seen at house doors'.
