Two fragments of a manuscript sermon notebook, the first gathering being pages 3-14 and the second being pages 30-[98]. Some elements of text are written in shorthand. Biblical references are given throughout the text. There are only two dates given in the manuscript 27 October 1706 and 10 November 1706. There is no indication of the author/preacher or place of preaching.

Contents The Fasciculus Morum is a handbook for preachers written by an unknown Franciscan friar in the 14th century. This copy was done in the 15th century. An inscription in a 17th century hand, Fasciculus Morum per fratrem Thomam Acclom Carmelitam, tells us that Thomas Acclom of the Carmelite Order was either the scribe of this manuscript or the supposed author of the book.Contents...

Note about priests preaching on Sgeir a' Phobuil [An Apainn/Appin] and that Cill Mhodain in Ardchattan [Cille Mhaodain/Àird Chatain] was the oldest [priory] in Argyllshire, probably collected from Donald MacColl [foxhunter, Glencreran, Earra Ghàidheal/Argyllshire]. Also notes that Sir Walter Scott was in Glencreran several times, while Donald was there.

Scope and Contents This is the personal notebook of reverend Henry Clark, vicar of the Anti-Burgher seceder congregation at Boghole from 1763 to 1809, in the county of Nairn. It contains a range of entries including finished sermons, notes for sermons and personal musings on theology. Each sermon records the date and location, thus identifying the author as Henry Clark. The text is written in a small and sometimes difficult hand, with numerous additional notes, frequent abbreviations, occasional corrections...

Story telling how Donl du tearn [Dòmhnall Dubh Tighearna or Sir Donald Campbell of Airds, Earra Ghàidheal/Argyllshire] sent for the Baron of Bachuil while he was on his deathbed but his wife never sent the messenger for him. It notes that Dòmhnall used to 'preach in the ag[e]s of episcopy.'
