Scope and Contents Manuscript catalogue of the books in the library of the Barclays of Ury, Kincardineshire (now Aberdeenshire), dated 1774 (with a few additions up to the 1790s). It contains the books of five generations of Scottish Quakers: 547 numbered titles are listed, plus a few unnumbered, as well as perhaps 80 more "Pamphlets in the chest".The catalogue was compiled during the time of Robert Barclay-Allardice (1762–1797), in around 1774 (the date is not in evidence and was perhaps taken...

Catalogue of rare books acquired using money from the bequest of General John Reid. Reid bequeathed a large sum to the University in 1838 primarily to endow a Chair of Music, and in 1841 part of this money was assigned by the Senate to the Library's book purchase fund. The latest publication date of books recorded in the catalogue would appear to be c1866.
