Story probably collected from Hector MacLeod, aged 85, at Caisteal Bhuirgh/Borve Castle, Lionacleit/Linaclate, Beinn na Faoghla/Benbecula of a prophecy about a battle to be fought at Aird-nan-ceann, which is between Caisteal Bhuirgh/Borve Castle and Braobh-fhaothail, Beinn na Faoghla/Benbecula. The story quotes the prophecy of Cainneach Oar [Coinneach Odhar or Kenneth MacKenzie].

Scope and Contents Story collected at Gramsdall [Gramasdail/Gramsdale, Beinn na Faoghla/Benbecula] about Coinneach Odhar [The Brahan Seer] telling how following a dream he had, he got his powers of prophesy from a stone in a box he had found on the strand. Later he threw the stone into a loch near Loch Ness and it was said that when the stone is recovered all his prophesies will come true. The story also lists several of Coinneach Odhar's prophesies relating to Uist and Barra including the presence of grey...

Scope and Contents Story entitled 'Tomas Reibhair' ['Thomas the Rhymer'] collected from Iain MacChoinich [John MacKenzie] from 'eilean Chollach' at Carbost [Cola/Coll, Càrabost, An t-Eilean Sgitheanach/Isle of Skye]. A man was buying six horses, all of them with a golden yellow forelock and after buying the last one, his servant recognised him as Thomas the Rhymer. He asks her which eye did you recognise me with and she said it was her right eye whereupon he put his finger on her eye and she was blinded....
