Story about why the cock does not crow in Ireland, describing how Christ had said that he was not going until the cock crowed and so in Connaught [Connacht] people placed their cockerels under pots so that they would not crow and they have not crowed since. The story tells of a woman who was suffering from a swollen breast and is healed by Christ. Catherine states that she healed ten or twelve similar cases in Gairloch and in Morayshire [Moireibh]. The story tells of how a female tinker [bana-cheard] fanned the flames of the fire which forged the nails used to nail Christ to the cross for which Christ cursed her and her descendants to travel for generations without finding peace or rest.
