Notes and story about eagles including that a young eagle does not leave the nest until it can hunt for itself, that Calum Brocar got ten shillings for an eagle, that an eagle 'cuts rope like [a] knife' and that fishermen off Bhatairsteinn/Waterstein found an eagle 'with its two claws into a large Ugsa [coal-fish]. both dead.' Story about a child abducted by an eagle collected from Donald Currie, crofter, Baile Meadhanach/Ballymeanach, Ìle/Islay, which tells how a Colbhasa/Colonsay woman left her child rolled in a blanket on the ground while at the sheiling, but it was lifted by an eagle which carried it to Islay and laid it down on a hillock, which Donald's grandfather was hiding behind. The story concludes that 'The child screamed.'

Two stories about shooting birds including that [-] Ross, gamekeeper, shot a forked tailed gled [kite] in 1884 and that in Uibhist a Tuath/North Uist he tried to shot at a greylag goose and on going to retrieve it, it was taken by a peregrine falcon and eaten before he got to it. He shot at the falcon but failed and eventually got it by setting a trap. The falcon went into the possession of Captain John [Maccalum]. Text has been scored through as if transcribed elsewhere.
