Notebook of ailments and treatments entitled 'Practice of Medicine', written up by Herbert Thompson (d. 1957) at the Royal (Dick) Veterinary College, Edinburgh, c. 1899
Notebook describing animal ailments and treatments, including of the alimentary tract, soft palate, common sypmtoms of diseases of teeth, salivary glands, the liver, and inflamation of the udder etc. There are sub-headings such as: chanping of jaws, grinding of teeth, paralysis of lips, disease of parotid duct, and etc.

Notes of Lectures of Professor Crum Brown, taken down by George Burns
The two volumes forming the collection contain a set of notes on Professor Crum Brown's lectures taken in Winter Session 1892-3 by George Burns (then residing in Grange Road, Edinburgh), in a clear and legible hand. The volumes are labelled on first pages as; Chemistry 1; and, Chemistry 2. They are stamped on the spine as 'Note Book' and on the front boards with the University badge.
Notes on the Anatomy and Surgery lectures of Henry Cline and Astley Cooper, taken down by Robert Bickersteth
These ms notes of the lectures on Anatomy and Surgery given by Henry Cline (1750-1827) and Astley Cooper (1768-1841) were taken down by Robert Bickersteth. Cline was a surgeon at St. Thomas's Hospital, London, and Cooper was a surgeon in London too.
The notes are in ink, sometimes on both recto and verso of the leaf, but usually on the rectos only. There are occasional drawings.

The papers consist of elements of mathematics containing the first six books of Euclid, and lectures on logic by Professor J. Finlayson, taken down by Pollock in 1796-1797, and observations on medical jurisprudence delivered in lectures by Professor A. Duncan, 1797-1798.
