The collection consists of: personal items relating to Glasswell's career (1964-1992); correspondence with students and colleagues in Africa (1966-1985); papers, articles and sermons on theology and on religion in Africa (c 1967-1984); and material on the North German Mission to West Africa, with correspondence with Rudolph Bultmann (c 1920-1969).

Scope and Contents The material consists of papers, reports, correspondence, articles and press cuttings relating to: (1) South Africa: includes some early records such as on Lovedale (1884-1950s), material on the Paris Evangelical Society (1917-1960s), and material on the reaction of the churches to events in South Africa (1960s-1970s). (2) Zimbabwe: with material on Christian reaction to events (1951-1979). (3) Zambia: includes correspondence about the Livingstonia Mission (Rhodesia) Provident Fund...

The collection consists of photographs, negatives and lantern slides (3 slides only) showing the hospital at Ama Achara, patients and staff, missionaries, church workers, other areas in Eastern Nigeria including Calabar, and mission work in general; most of the photographs are from the 1920s-mid 1940s but there are some earlier ones of Mary Slessor; and there is also a printed article on the hospital (1937).

The material consists of the correspondence and papers of Messrs. Donnison and Edwards, Castle Street, Liverpool, who appear to have been legal agents for CFAO. The items are mainly about property in Lagos Oshogbo, and Port Harcourt in Nigeria, Sekondi and Cape Coast Castle in Ghana, and Freetown in Sierra Leone. There is also material related to litigation in the matter of captured German vessels and personnel.

The records are composed of: agenda, minutes and reports of quarterly London meetings, and special monthly reports on Ghana and Nigeria, 1962-1965. There is one report on Sierra Leone, April 1965.
