Patient is well-to-do, has been living with one old servant, lately living alone and neglecting herself after the servant had to be pensioned off. Latterly very dirty and neglected. Private income."

Wealthy, lives alone with a housekeeper. Dr confirms this woman is "clean gone"."

"This woman was admitted to CR under certificate t 2 1/2 guineas. Had been peculiar for at least 10 years. Had been living alone in Glasgow - agitated, quarrelsome, deluded. Diagnosis - senile psychosis with grandiose delusions and impairment of intellectual funcions."

"Rate-aided patient. Patient seems quite rational when first conversing with her. She gradually becomes disorientated; she did not remember having seen or conversed with the doctor 10 minutes previously, on being asked why she did not take her medicine she said she was being poisoned. The Matron says that patient is a nuisance in the ward. Tears the clothes off other patients, swearts and used obscene language."
