31.16 Female, Single, 25-34 yrs, Other organic psychoses, High grade mental defective, August 1945
"This girl had infantile paralysis and has never been able to work; she is also backward, never very brilliant. Parents were not quite normal. [Female informant] thinks she may have disseminated scelerosis. Dr says this girl is a bit simple - old polio. Cannot work. Clean home, nice people. Is now pregnant."
31.21 Female, Single, 15-24 yrs, Low grade mental defective, August 1945
"This girl, hunchbacked, hangs about, does no work, has little jobs but is unsatisfactory. Was backward at school, can only just write. Father dead, mother in her 50s, not very bright. Wee house, clean, harmonious. She now does domestic work for a few hours. Dr - has a peculiar appearance."

"This woman was nearly brought into Crichton. She had been playing around with a soldier, thought she was pregnant and developed an acute anxiety state; threatened to throw herself in the river. Always rather simple. She is a maid."
