Anterior coronal view of the brain: demonstration of how impact to the lateral side of the cranium disrupts the blood supply to the anterior brain and causes contrecoup damage on the opposite side to the impact due to rebound force. Numbered 10 and titled "Dyn. H.I. Ant. (b) Rebound."

Subdural haematoma is drained via burr hole while fluid is injected into the lumbar spinal subarachnoid space – allowing upward pressure to be exerted on the herniated brain tissue, thus shifting it back to the correct anatomical position.
