Story and notes about snakes collected from Donald Currie, crofter, Ìle/Islay, describing when and how the snake sheds its skin; how a man saw a snake jump twelve feet in the air after he had threatened it; that all the belly scales are used in travelling and that they will chase children but not adults. Story entitled 'Burns' collected from Angus Macniven, tailor, Cill Taigh an Uillt [Kirkton, Taynuilt, Earra Ghàidheal/Argyllshire]. Much of the text is illegible owing to smudged pencil marks but of the text that can be distinguished this item would appear to involve a Campbell fleeing from the country after a number of murders. It has not been possible to make out the text which relates to Robert Burns.

Story entitled 'Caora Dhubh na Bachuill' collected from Donald Macgrigor [Donald MacGregor], Bailegarbh [Baile Garbh, Lios Mòr/Lismore] about a black sheep, belonging to Domhnall Dubh nan Aird [Sir Donald Campbell of Airds], which was stolen and the sheepskin was found hanging from the rafters of the Baron of Bachuil's barn, for which the Baron was threatened with hanging. In order to spare himself the Baron was forced to hand over several pieces of land.
