This is a ring-bound undergraduate thesis (foolscap) entitled "Parks and Open Spaces" submitted by William B. Cape, BSc June 1948, to the Department of Town and Country Planning at Edinburgh College of Art. It consists of 33 pages plus appendices and 33 plates, with contemporary correspondence relating to the subject, and subsequent articles of relevance.

The first compares 3 sites within the University of Edinburgh Comprehensive Development Area. The second looks in more detail at one of the sites, the "Bristo Site".
