Biography
Roźa Niedźwiedź was a Polish exile whom Irene Jessie Young had tutored towards the endof the Second World War, and who became one of her closest friends. She was Jewish and lost all of her family in concentraion camps. After the war, Roźa worked in administrative capacities in department store chains in Birmingham and Liverpool, and ultimately became assistant to the economic adviser to Rio Tinto Zinc. She was active in the affairs of the University of Edinburgh Club of London. She became a naturalised British subject as Rosalie Needson.
