Scope and Content

This sub-series consists of 8 files containing correspondence bewtween Sir Chrles Harington and Martin Rivers Pollock. As Pollock's Head at the National Institute of Medical Research during most of the period of Pollock's employment there, the bulk of this correspondence concerns the running of Pollock's laboratory, including requests to attend conferences, purchase and maintenance of equipment, approval of articles, visitors to the Institute, etc.

Sir Charles Harington was Director of the National Institute of Medical Research 1942-1962. He was succeeded by P.B. Medawar.
