Commentum super Lamentationes Jeremie, by Hugh of Saint Victor, 15th century
Contents
15th century Dutch manuscript of Hugh of Saint Victor's Commentum super Lamentationes Jeremie (Commentary on the Lamentations of the Prophet Jeremiah). This work was originally written in the first half of the 12th century at the Abbey of Saint Victor in Paris. Hugh of Saint Victor seems to have merged the Book of Lamentations with the Book of Jeremiah.
It begins on f.1: "Quomodo sedet sola civitas plena populo..." and ends on f.91 verso: "quanta miseria sequatur. Deo gracias. Explicit commentum venerabilis et eximii doctoris Magistri Hugonis de Sancto Victore super lamentationes Jheremie Prophete".
