Scope and Contents
Series of loose leaf papers by Alexander MacBain, mostly connected with his student days at Aberdeen University. Contents include: an essay entitled, 'Study and Books', a Presidential Address by Alexander MacBain to the Celtic Society, 7 November 1879, debates on Universal Suffrage and Irish Land Agitation, an essay entitled, 'Separate Legislation for the Highlands', a Gaelic debate on the theme, 'Co aca bu choir an t-Seann Nollaig agus Callain', a number of poems, an essay on Relativity and a lecture by Alexander MacBain entitled,'The Relation of Poetry and Science'. Also a number of items relating to Gaelic language, a paper on Celtic Mythology and a prospectus for Rainings School, Inverness, where Alexander MacBain was Headmaster.
