Scope and Contents
Note about Caisteal Bheagram [Uibhist a Deas/South Uist] describing its condition, position and composition. A fragment of a song is included beginning 'Thainic slauri dhu a nuas' and the title of another song [possibly the same song] 'Tha pairt an Eilean Bheagram dhiu', which Carmichael notes as being 'included in Carruther's edition of Boswells Tour'. He also notes that Clanranald seem to have lived in the castle before they went to Ormacleit [Ormaclete, Uibhist a Deas/South Uist] '& some scions of the family afterwards'.
