Scope and Contents
Song entitled and beginning 'Na Tri Eoin Chruinne Gheala Dhonn' collected from Peigi Robastan nean Alastair 'Ic Aulai [Peggy Robertson], Howmore [Tobha Mòr, Uibhist a Deas/South Uist]. One verse has been written over text in the opposite direction on folio 24r. A footnote reads 'Compose[d] by a jealous wrangling pair. Heard only once by the reciter when a girl. Never heard it again. This was in Morar [Mòrar, Siorramachd Inbhir Nis/Inverness-shire] at a wedding. Sung by a man.' The text has been scored through and a note reads 'Transcribed May 6 1869 A[lexander] A[rchibald] C[armichael]'.
