They were their places of defence against the attacks of the Lochlannaich [Vikings]' and listing the places in Miùghlaigh/Mingulay, Barraigh/Isle of Barra, Bhatarsaigh/Vatersay and Beàrnaraigh/Berneray where the Druinnich lived.
