Scope and Contents
Note about the Livingstone family and some of their possessions collected from John Livingstone 'Muillear Mòr', Portnacroish, Appin [Port na Crois, An Apainn, Earra Ghàidheal/Argyllshire] aged 73 years, including mention of a connection with Dr [David] Livingstone, that the family is from Achnacrithe [Achadh na Crithe/Achnacree], Benderloch [Meudarloch], Morven [A' Mhòrbhairne] and Ulbha [Ulva]. He mentions a salt cellar, a tumbler in a house in Druimnamoine [Druim na Mòine/Druim-na-moina] and the brooch of Dòmhnall nan Òrd, in Achnancon [Achadh nan Con/Achnacone]. The brooch is described as four inches in diameter, enamelled and bears the names of the family. Also mentioned is Dòmhnall nan Òrd's sword which was in the Battle of Culloden and 'has men's hair on it'.
