Scope and Contents Note about the Livingstone family and some of their possessions collected from John Livingstone 'Muillear Mòr', Portnacroish, Appin [Port na Crois, An Apainn, Earra Ghàidheal/Argyllshire] aged 73 years, including mention of a connection with Dr [David] Livingstone, that the family is from Achnacrithe [Achadh na Crithe/Achnacree], Benderloch [Meudarloch], Morven [A' Mhòrbhairne] and Ulbha [Ulva]. He mentions a salt cellar, a tumbler in a house in Druimnamoine [Druim na Mòine/Druim-na-moina]...

Scope and Contents Story entitled 'Cruban Dunan is Baidein' telling of three brothers who were the first people to come to Lios Mòr/Lismore, Earra Ghàidheal/Argyllshire. They came from Ceannloch [Kinloch] and Crùban built Dun Chrubain [Dùn hrùban] and Dùnan and Baidein were to build together on Druim an Dunain [Druim an dùnain] but quarrelled and so Baidein left for Sailean Sligeanach in Benderloch [Sàilean Sligeanach, Meudarloch] where he built his own township, which he called Dun Bhaidein [Dùn Bhaidein]. Two stories about candlesticks, the first telling how one was found on the Crois [Crois Dubh Lios Mòr or Black Cross of Lismore, Lios Mòr/Lismore, Earra Ghàidheal/Argyllshire], giving a description of it and the other tells how a gold candlestick was found in the grave of a daughter of Ni[ghean] Mac Coll Rugarbh, Benderloch [Rhugarbh, Meudarloch] about forty years before [c 1830].
