The text Doctrinale by Alexander of Villedieu appears on ff. 3r-29v in MS 138. This text was originally composed by Alexander, a French poet and teacher, around 1200 and came to be a classic on Latin grammar in medieval Europe.
The text as it appears here in MS 138 begins on f.3r with the words Scribere clericulis parvo doctrinale novellis, and ends on f. 29v with Plurali numero similes sunt quos ego cerno. Deo Gracias.
