Composite manuscript containing nine texts, 15th century
Contents
This manuscript contains nine main texts in several hands, although the last section itself is made of various notes written by different people. The whole text has been annotated by John of Haghen, Prior of the Carthusians at Erfurt, which could mean this volume was his personal handbook at some point.
f. 1r: List of Contents, written by John of Haghen, Prior of the Carthusians at Erfurt.
ff. 1v-2v: Tract on the Paternoster
ff. 3r-7r: Notes on decretals [?]
ff. 8r-55r: Text from the commentary by Peter of Ancarano, on Book V of the 'Decretals of Gregory IX'
ff. 56r-115r: Text from Johannes of Imola's commentary on Book III of the 'Decretals of Gregory IX'
ff. 115r-126v: Notes, including the dates of the decretals and papal constitutions
ff. 127r-129r: Notes described as 'Diffinitiones titulorum decretalium' (Descriptions of the destinguished decretals)
ff. 130r-131r: A segment of 'Glossa aurea Joannis Monachi cardinalis in Sextum Decretalium', by Cardinal Jean Lemoine
ff. 133r-135r: A text entitled 'Liber de Vita Actionum' (A Book on life of action)
ff. 136r-191r: An text from work by Johannes of Imola,'sententiis in re judicata de Appellationibus et Confirmationibus' (Thoughts on the claim preclusion of appeals and confirmations)
ff. 193r-370r: Various notes in many different hands, including that of John of Haghen, Prior of the Carthusians of Erfurt.
The texts are described separately, under the folio headings listed above.
The hands are many and very difficult, part of the volume being written, and the whole annotated, by John of Haghen, a 15th century prior of the Carthusians of Erfurt. There is no attempt at ornament.

Custodial History
Written by many very difficult hands, the contents of this manuscript are difficult to describe. The list of contents at the beginning seems to be written by John of Haghen, Prior of the Carthusians of Erfurt, and the volume is annotated freely throughout by the same hand. This establishes its provenance, and there is also, on f. 1r, the usual 17th century inscription found in books from the Carthusian collection at Erfurt, Cartusiae Erford. A sale entry, date unknown, indicates that its price in the original wood binding was 10s. 6d.
