This section of the manuscript contains the homilies De Laudibus Virginis Matris (Homilies in praise of the Blessed Virgin Mary) by Bernard of Clairvaux (1090-1153), an influential and prolific French abbot of the Cistercian Order. The text is composed of a prologue and four homilies dedicated to the virgin Mary.
