Margins: Sermones super Cantica Canticorum [incomplete] by Bernard of Clairvaux.
ff. 1r-80v: Anonymous commentary on the Song of Songs
ff. 80v-92v: 'Expositio super Magnificat'
ff. 97v-134v: Sermon on the Passion
ff. 136r-151r: Commentary of the Song of Songs by Honorius Augustodunensis
ff. 151r-160r: Tabula lectionum
ff. 161r-176r: 'Stella Clericorum'
ff. 176r-183r: Sermon on the Feast of the Visitation of Mary
The texts are described separately, under MS 99/Margins; MS 99/ff. 1r-80v; MS 99/ff. 80v-92v; MS 99/ff. 97v-136v; MS 99/ff. 136r-151r; MS 99/ff. 151r-160r; MS 99/ff. 161r-176r; and MS 99/ff. 176r-183r.
Rather roughly written with plain red capitals. The extracts from S. Bernard's sermons have been added in the margins and blank spaces in a neat, small hand, contemporary with the manuscript.

Custodial History
This is given by the inscription on the inner fly-leaf, G. Giiii. Liber Sancte Marie Virginis in Huysborch. This must refer to Huysburg in Prussia, and to the Benedictine Abbey there. The inscription is followed by a list of contents all written in the 15th century. A modern hand adds in pencil 183 Bl. [Blätter], from which it would seem to have been in German hands till a late date. An unknown Sale Catalogue entry on the inner board gives the price 15s.

Binding: Oak boards covered red leather, 5 brass bosses on each board, strap and pin [new], rebacked. The title ‘HONORII PAPAE PROLOGUS IN CAN. CANTICORUM MSS.’ is stamped on the outer cover spine upright.
Collation: a12-l12, m14 (+2 and 3), n14, o12, p12=184.
