Correspondence relating to other persons, 1796-1930
Sub-Series
Identifier: Coll-1839/1/3
Scope and Contents
Correspondence relating to other persons. These items are separated from the rest of the series in that many of them make no reference to Louisa at all. Most discuss legal matters and reference Bayley and Newby, a firm of solicitors in Stockton-on-Tees. William Crawford Newby, who worked for the firm, was Matthew Crawford’s first cousin. Many of the items reference him, or his father George Newby, a reverend near Gateshead.
