Fragments of a sacramentary, 11th century
Scope and Contents
Part of a Sacramentary, taken from the binding of MS 222. These folios contain part of the Temporale and Commune Sanctorum (the Common of Saints). F. 1r contains Ad Complenda (the In natale Domini ad Sanctum Petrum of the Gregorian Sancamenary); Dom. i. post Natale Domini; Missa de Sancta Maria. On f. 1v there is Postcom. Haec nos Communio, which has been inserted in the margin by a 14th-century hand. In the original hand, Kal. Januarii, Circumcisio Domini. Following this, f. 2r contains In natale unius martyris and Item unius martyris, and f. 2v has De martyre pontifice and In natale plurimorum martyrum. F. 3r contains De martyribus episcopis and In natale confessoris episcopi and f. 3v has De episcopo Doctore and De confessore non episcopo. On f. 4r-v there is Item de confessore non episcopo, De confessoribus episcopis, De confessoribus non episcopis, and part of De uno confessore. This fragment is similar to the Gregorian Sacramentary in parts.
