Composite manuscript including six texts, 14th-15th century
Contents
Contains six texts, in a few different hands, all about religious doctrine. This manuscript is German, probably from Erfurt, and is 14th-15th century. The different sections are separated with leather markers. The contents are as follows:
ff. 1r-192r: Rudimenta Doctrine by Gilbert of Tournai
ff. 192v-215r: Tractatus de interdicto ecclesiastico by Johannes Calderinus
ff. 215r-222v: Quod nemo leditur nisi a semet ipso by John Chrysostom
ff. 222v-249v: Rationale operum dei by Matthew of Kraków
ff. 250r-261r: De abusibus curiae Romanae by Matthew of Kraków
ff. 261r-261v: Letter from Matthew of Kraków to John of Falkenberg
The texts are described separately under MS 111/ff. 1r-192r; MS 111/ff. 192v-215r; MS 111/ff. 215r-222v; MS 111/ff. 222v-249v; MS 111/ff. 250r-261r; and MS 111/ff. 261r-261v.
The hand is fair with little ornament. Most of the manuscript is written in a similar hand, except for the last section. The hand that added the last section also seems to have added titles to the two sections before it. The section containing Rationale divinorum operum by Matthew of Kraków has a Thema added in a slightly different hand.

Custodial History
The book probably comes from the near neighbourhood of Erfurt, since a note at the end of the first treatise (see Contents), written not long after the book itself, refers to a more complete copy and other works by Gilbert of Tournai, which are in the library of the Majus Collegium there. There are no marks of ownership. The sale entry at the beginning gives the date as 1408, and the price in original binding, £2, 2s.
