Transcriptions of MS Harleian 5280 (Cath Maige Tuired), Late 19th or early 20th century
Scope and Contents
This notebook contains transcriptions of the Harleian 5280 manuscript, in as close a rendering as possible to the original (including typeface). There are also notes in English alongside many of the transcriptions. It is not clear when or by whom this notebook was written, or what their intended purpose with the document was. According to the annotations on the front cover of the notebook, the contents may specifically refer to the Cat Maige Tuired (modern Irish spelling: Cath Maighe Tuireadh), meaning 'the Battle of Magh Tuireadh'.
