De passionibus animi, 15th century
Contents
De passionibus animi does not appear to be identified in another manuscript. It gives no indication of its author, and the title suggests that this might be a text containing medieval understanding and treatment of mental health problems. However, the first line of the text mentions emoroide and fistule, (hemorrhoids [?] amd fistulas), so perhaps animi is better translated as 'heart' in this case.
The text begins on f. 171v on the line directly following the text contained before it. The first line reads: Hae sunt infirmitates animi emoroide, fistule, mollificatio...
The final words, on f. 173v, read: est mitigativa doloris.
This short work is also by the third hand found in MS 175.
