  4. Lord John Boyd Orr ( 1880-1971), nutritional physiologist (1 CD)
  5. Sir Frederick Stratten Russell ( 1897-1984), marine biologist (6 CDs)
  6. Sir Geoffrey Ingram Taylor ( 1886-1975, physicist, mathematician & engineer (8 CDs)
  7. Sir Maurice Yonge ( 1899-1986), marine biologist (6 CDs)

Interviews were conducted by Margaret Deacon, except that with Bragg, which was conducted by D.O. Edge. Dr. W.I. Jenkins, Loughborough University, took part in the interview with Russell and Yonge.

Biographical / Historical

The interviews with staff of the Institute of Animal Genetics took place from 1969-1971 and were conducted by staff from the Science Studies Unit at the University of Edinburgh as part of a pilot project.

Custodial History

Original tapes were held in Audio Visual Room, Edinburgh University Library, prior to transfer to Edinburgh University Archives. They had been deposited with the Library, 05 June 1972.

These CDs were reproduced from the original tapes which are now placed in the School of Scottish Studies.
